Was the MA election last night really a game changing victory, or did it really just maintain the status quo?

I'm all for blocking the health care bill, but this guy is hardly revolutionary or unique in any way. He will do nothing to roll back the horrible policies that have been piled on first from the left then from the right over decades. So didn't this most recent example of partisan politics just reinforce the strangle hold on power that the two-headed inbency monster has on us? Is the enthusiasm of those opposed to government control of our economy justified, or did we just fall into the same old trap of voting against someone bad rather than for someone good?
