Is my 2 month old really eating too much?

My son is 2 months old, he's given milk from a bottle, and eats about 5 or 6 ounces (give or take an ounce or two) every 2 or 2.5 hours. He is only 13 pounds and 24.5 inches. I would like for him to wait and eat about every 3 or 4 hours, but he's not having it. My doctor wants him to go longer than 2 hours between feedings also. The only way I know how to do this is to let him scream. He doesn't like the pacifier..he likes to eat! The only good thing is that he either sleeps straight through the night or only wakes up once. How do I get him to go longer between feedings?
